Nieuwe onderdelen moeten Force India naar voren helpen

Het team van Force India reist met een vernieuwde VJM01 af naar de Britse Grand Prix. De Indiase renstal introduceerde vorige week bij de test op Silverstone enkele nieuwe onderdelen, waaronder een van Red Bull Racing afgekeken motorkap met haaienvin. De update moet Force India dichter bij het tweede kwalificatiedeel brengen.

Teambaas Colin Kolles: Uiteraard verheugen wij ons op de race op Silverstone. Onze fabriek ligt aan de overkant van de straat en we kunnen meer familie en vrienden uitnodigen dan bij andere races. In Frankrijk bewezen we dat we betrouwbaar zijn, nu is het zaak om de competitiviteit op te schroeven. We hebben een significante aerodynamische en mechanische update en daarmee moeten we in de buurt van de rest van het veld komen.

Chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne: Na een productieve test op Silverstone kijken wij uit naar de Britse Grand Prix. We hebben een nieuwe aerodynamische en mechanische configuratie en onze drie coureurs waren daar zeer over te spreken. De auto biedt nu meer grip en downforce en is stabieler bij het aanremmen.
