Brawn: "Button en Barrichello ook in 2009 bij Honda"

Honda-teambaas Ross Brawn heeft onthuld dat Jenson Button en Rubens Barrichello volgend jaar zijn rijdersduo vormen. Op de vraag van Formula1.com of zijn huidige rijders ook in 2009 voor de Japanse renstal uitkomen, antwoordde de Engelsman kort en duidelijk: Ja.

Hij verklaart verder: We hebben zeker over onze coureurs voor volgend seizoen nagedacht. Maar onze prioriteit ligt bij de auto. Wij denken dat onze coureurs kunnen presteren als wij hen een competitieve auto bieden. Qua coureurs willen we dus niks veranderen, alle focus ligt bij de bolide.

We hebben nog een nieuwe achterwielophanging gepland voor de race in Hongarije, waar ik heel optimistisch over ben, en enkele nieuwe aerodynamische onderdelen. Maar dat is min of meer alles wat we dit jaar nog doen. Een special pakket voor Monza is logisch en daar blijft het bij.
