Heidfeld presteert nog niet aan zijn maximum

BMW Sauber-coureur Nick Heidfeld is op de weg terug na een mindere periode, maar de Duitser zit nog niet aan zijn maximum. Vooral de kwalificaties verlopen nog niet vlekkeloos. In de laatste twee races scoorde hij elf punten meer dan teamgenoot Robert Kubica. Het kwalificatieduel is echter wel 9-1 in het voordeel van de Pool

Toch is Heidfeld tevreden met de progressie die hij maakt. Ik zit nog niet aan mijn maximum, maar ik kom er steeds dichterbij. In de kwalificatie maakte ik wat fouten, maar het is niet zoals aan het begin van het seizoen dat ik gewoonweg te langzaam was. Het gaat nu in de juiste richting en dat maakt me blij.

De test op het circuit van Barcelona was het belangrijkste moment van mijn seizoen tot nu toe. Daar hebben we wat nieuwe dingen geprobeerd en oplossingen voor mijn problemen gevonden. Dat zijn we nu aan het finetunen en ik leer nog steeds bij. Bovendien moest ik eerst wennen voordat het natuurlijk aan ging voelen.
