Rechter stelt Max Mosley in het gelijk

Max Mosley, voorzitter van de internationale autosportbond FIA, heeft de rechtszaak tegen inbreuk op zijn privacy gewonnen. De Britse krant News of the World onthulde eerder dit jaar een seksschandaal met de FIA-president in de hoofdrol. Volgens Mosley ging dat in tegen zijn rechten op privacy en de rechter stelde hem vandaag in het gelijk. De krant moet een schadevergoeding van 60.000 pond betalen.

De belangrijkste getuige van News of The World kwam niet opdagen. De prostituee die de orgie filmde, wilde op het allerlaatste moment geen verklaring meer afleggen. De hele kwestie heeft verregaande gevolgen gehad voor de positie van Mosley. Hij overleefde een speciale stemming van de FIA-leden. Voor enkele leden die tegen gestemd hadden reden om de banden met de FIA af te zwakken.
