Ferrari van plan om haaienvin in te zetten op Hungaroring

Het team van Ferrari heeft de intentie om de F2008 voor de Grand Prix van Hongarije van komend weekend uit te rusten met de nieuwe motorkap met haaienvin. Dat meldt La Gazzetta dello Sport. Ferrari testte vorige week in Jerez met het nieuwe onderdeel en volgens de Italiaanse sportkrant zorgde de haaienvin voor een betere stabiliteit van de bolide.

Red Bull Racing introduceerde de noviteit eerder dit jaar en nadien verscheen de haaienvin in races op de autos van Scuderia Toro Rosso, Renault en Force India. McLaren en Toyota testten op de Hockenheimring met een dergelijke motorkap, maar zetten het nog niet in voor een Grand Prix. Ferrari zou van plan zijn om na de race op de Hungaroring de haaienvin ook te gebruiken in Valencia voor de Grand Prix van Europa. Voor de twee daaropvolgende races, op de snelle circuits van Spa-Francorchamps en Monza, zou de renstal weer voor een meer traditionele motorkap kiezen.
