Hamilton: "Meer kans op titel dan vorig jaar"

McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton gelooft dat hij dit jaar meer kansen heeft om de titel te winnen dan vorig seizoen. In 2007 debuteerde de Engelsman en hij had twee races voor het einde een voorsprong van zeventien punten op de uiteindelijke kampioen, Kimi Raikkonen. Hamilton eindigde als tweede, op één punt van de Fin. Dit jaar is het doel om een trede hoger te eindigen op het podium.

Hamilton: Ik denk dat we dit jaar meer kans maken op de titel en het hele team voelt hetzelfde. We hebben dit seizoen geen extra bagage of extra stress waar we mee om moeten gaan. We leven meer met de gezonde spanning van hard werken om de auto beter te maken. Dit jaar verloopt veel soepeler dan het vorige en we zijn meer relaxed. De dingen gaan zoals ze horen te gaan. We zijn hier om te racen en worden nu niet afgeleid door randverschijnselen. We zitten in een veel betere positie dan vorig jaar en dit is waar het team wil staan. Alle focus ligt op het racen.
