VT3: Hamilton leidt Massa en Glock

Lewis Hamilton sloot de derde en laatste vrije training voor de Grand Prix van Hongarije als snelste coureur af. De McLaren-coureur bleef Felipe Massa in de Ferrari en Timo Glock van Toyota voor, die respectievelijk op de tweede en derde plaats eindigden. Kovalainen pakte de vierde tijd en Piquet Jr. liet zien dat hij erg snel is op het circuit in Hongarije, hij eindigde als vijfde. Heidfeld is op plaats zes de eerste BMW-coureur. Bourdais en Vettel staan knap op de zevende en achtste plaats tegenover de teleurstellende tijd van Raikkonen op plaats negen.

Vanaf het moment dat Hamilton de baan op kwam werd de sessie gedomineerd door de McLaren-coureur, slechts een enkele keer was Massa sneller in zijn Ferrari. In de laatste vijf minuten bracht Hamilton de snelste tijd naar een 1:20.228 op de zachtere band. Massa kon hier niet aan tippen. Ook de verrassende Glock kon dat niet. De Toyota-coureur reed vrijwel de gehele sessie top tien-tijden. Zijn snelste tijd reed hij op de harde band toen hij ook nog last had van verkeer. Glock's teamgenoot Trulli is pas op plaats veertien terug te vinden.

Hamilton's teamgenoot Kovalainen wist zich naar een vierde tijd te knokken met in zijn kielzog de Braziliaan Piquet Jr. De Renault-coureur presteert tot op heden goed op de Hungaroring. Teamgenoot Alonso kon niet sneller zijn dan hem en onder andere ook Raikkonen, Rosberg, beide Toro Rosso's en Heidfeld en pakte daarom slechts de elfde tijd.

Vrije training drie verliep vrijwel vlekkeloos, alleen Alonso en Kubica maakten een klein uitstapje. De laatstgenoemde beschadigde daarbij zijn barge-board, en reed in totaal achttien ronden.

De kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Hongarije begint om 14.00 uur.

Ik weet het het, het zijn maar VT\'s, maar toch...die ferrari\'s lijken wel achteruit te rijden.
Zou het trouwens kunnen dat Raikkonen en Kubica een gelijkaardige rijstijl hebben? Het valt me op dat als het goed gaat met Raikkonen, het ook goed gaat met Kubica. En als Raikkonen niet meer zo snel rijdt, ook Kubica moeite lijkt te hebben.

Bourdais :) ... hey en toch knap weer van vettel om na zo weinig testen toch een goede tijd neer te zetten.
