Berger: "Bourdais moet zich nu bewijzen voor zitje in 2009"

Scuderia Toro Rosso-eigenaar Gerhard Berger heeft laten weten dat Sebastien Bourdais alles behalve zeker is van zijn racestoeltje voor 2009. De Fransman scoorde in de eerste race van het seizoen nog twee punten, maar sinds de entree van de STR3 gaat het steeds minder met de viervoudig Champ Car-kampioen. Hij heeft nog zeven races om Berger te overtuigen.

Berger zegt in Grand Prix: Wat we tot nu toe van Sebastien gezien hebben is niet slecht. Tot aan dit moment zat hij in een leerperiode in de Formule 1 en heeft hij enkele goede resultaten neergezet. Bourdais blijft echter alleen bij ons in 2009 als hij vanaf nu zijn potentieel gaat laten zien.

Van de mogelijke opvolgers voor de vertrekkende Sebastian Vettel maakt Sebastien Buemi steeds meer kans. Berger: Jaime Alguersuari wordt in de media ook genoemd, maar hij is nog te jong en zit in de beginfase van zijn autosportloopbaan. Van alle Red Bull-jongens is Buemi de enige die echt in aanmerking komt voor een stoeltje in 2009.
