Omwonenden protesteren tegen Grand Prix in Valencia

Omwonenden van het nieuwe stratencircuit in Valencia zijn niet erg te spreken over de activiteiten op het circuit. Ze klagen over geluidoverlast, stank en er wordt gevreesd voor de veiligheid.Zo zouden ambulances de wijken niet meer kunnen bereiken en wordt gevreesd voor verkeerschaos als de duizenden Formule 1-fans over twee weken naar Valencia komen. Een milieuorganisatie eist bovendien dat de race wordt verplaatst naar het Ricardo Tormo-circuit, dat net buiten de stad ligt.

Twee weken geleden werd het nieuwe stratencircuit in gebruik genomen met enkele Formule 3 en GT-races. Over twee weken staat de Grand Prix van Europa op het programma.
