Verstappen en Bleekemolen verdedigen eerste plek in Duitsland

Het Le Mans Series-kampioenschap gaat komend weekend verder met een race op de Nürburgring. In de Porsche RS Spyder van Van Merksteijn Motorsport rijdt dit keer niet Peter van Merksteijn zelf. Hij heeft andere verplichtingen. Het is aan Jos Verstappen en Jeroen Bleekemolen om de eerste positie in de LMP2-klasse vast te houden.

Jos Verstappen voelt zich vooraf sterk. Hij zegt op zijn site: Ik heb na de ombouw van het circuit in 2002 niet meer op de Nürburgring geracet, maar de wijzigingen hebben alleen maar betrekking op de eerste paar bochten. De rest van het circuit ken ik heel goed en ik ben er zeker van dat het circuit onze Porsche ligt, omdat de auto het vooral in bochten bijzonder goed doet.

Jeroen Bleekemolen is ook goed voorbereid, hij reed afgelopen weekend nog op de Nürburgring in de Duitse MINI challenge. Het wordt mijn eerste Le Mans Series-race met de Porsche, ik heb er echt zin in, zei Bleekemolen.
