Buemi kan stoeltje Scuderia Toro Rosso verdienen bij test

Het team van Scuderia Toro Rosso gaat volgende maand bij de test op het circuit van Jerez kijken of Sebastien Buemi geschikt is voor een racestoeltje voor 2009. De Zwitser is nu nog actief in de GP2. Op Jerez mag hij bewijzen dat hij klaar is voor promotie naar de Formule 1.

Scuderia Toro Rosso-eigenaar Gerhard Berger vertelt op autosport.com: We gaan Sebastien testen in Jerez. Het is een evaluatie voor de open plek voor volgend seizoen. In de ideale situatie verschijnen we volgend jaar met een jong talent en een ervaren coureur aan de start. We zetten iedereen die beschikbaar is op de lijst, maar we hebben nog geen knopen doorgehakt. Daar gaan we rustig onze tijd voor nemen.

Bruno Senna zou ook een kandidaat zijn voor de plek van jong talent, maar een evaluatietest is voor hem nog niet gepland. Voor de plek van routinier komen huidige Scuderia Toro Rosso-rijder Sebastien Bourdais en voormalig Super Aguri-duo Takuma Sato en Anthony Davidson in aanmerking.
