Ook Sato krijgt testmogelijkheid bij Scuderia Toro Rosso

Naast Sebastien Buemi krijgt ook Takuma Sato de kans om zich te bewijzen aan de teamleiding van Scuderia Toro Rosso. Eerder vandaag werd bekend dat Buemi geëvalueerd zal worden tijdens een test in Jerez volgende maand. Sato mag later dit jaar ook plaatsnemen in de Scuderia Toro Rosso om zijn kunsten te vertonen, zo bevestigde de Italiaanse renstal tegenover Auto Motor und Sport.

Scuderia Toro Rosso is op zoek naar een opvolger voor de naar Red Bull Racing vertrekkende Sebastien Vettel en vervangt wellicht ook Sebastien Bourdais. Teameigenaar Gerhard Berger liet al meermalen weten voor een mix van een ervaren rijder en jong talent te willen gaan. Ervaring heeft Sato genoeg. De Japanner kwam voor Jordan, BAR-Honda en Super Aguri uit in 88 Grands Prix. Hij scoorde tot nu toe 44 punten.
