Plezier keert terug bij Sebastien Bourdais

Sebastien Bourdais heeft zich dit jaar lange tijd niet goed gevoeld bij Scuderia Toro Rosso. De Fransman kon niet overweg met de nieuwe auto, de STR3. Afgelopen weekend in Valencia kwalificeerde hij zich echter in de top tien en finishte hij de race ook op die positie. De snelheid komt er langzaam maar zeker weer in en daarmee keert het plezier ook terug.

Bourdais zegt in de Franse krant LEquipe: De puzzel valt eindelijk in elkaar en het gaat weer de goede kant op. En dat heeft weer als resultaat dat ik het plezier in het rijden in een Formule 1-auto weer voel. Ik schopte het eindelijk tot het derde kwalificatiedeel en kon me meten met de snelste coureurs. Dat is goed voor het zelfvertrouwen.

Gedurende de race herontdekte ik het genot van rijden. Als ik bij de start niet een klein foutje had gemaakt waarbij ik mijn voorvleugel beschadigde op de auto van Nick Heidfeld, dan had ik punten kunnen scoren. Ik kreeg het goede gevoel dat ik in de Champ Car had weer. Dit was mijn beste weekend sinds het begin van dit seizoen en dit is een enorme boost voor de resterende races.
