Bridgestone komt met nieuwe regenband

Bandenleverancier Bridgestone ontwikkelt een nieuwe regenband voor de Formule 1. Het handigste aspect aan de nieuwe band is dat het zowel op een kletsnatte als op een minder vochtige baan voldoende grip moet bieden. Daardoor zouden de teams voortaan maar één in plaats van twee soorten regenbanden nodig hebben.

In de GP2 wordt al één type regenband gebruikt, in de Formule 1 hebben de teams nog de beschikking over een intermediate en een full wet. Als het aan Bridgestone ligt verandert dat dus. De Japanse firma wil de teams bij de volgende test waarbij regen van pas komt kennis laten maken met de nieuwe regenband.
