Webber: "Het is goed dat Renault en ik er weer staan"

Mark Webber is blij met zijn terugkeer in de top tien. De Red Bull Racing-coureur drong met enige moeite door tot de top tien-kwalificatie. De Red Bull Racing-bolide aangedreven door Renault-motoren werd de laatste races vaker dan ooit verslagen door het dochterteam Scuderia Toro Rosso, dat pikant genoeg rijdt met Ferrari-motoren. De Australiër Webber vind het dan ook goed Alonso en Webber in de top tien staan, voor de Scuderia Toro Rosso's. Mark Webber start morgen als zevende, Alonso als zesde.

Mark Webber: "Wij zijn hier een stuk sneller dan in de vorige race op het stratencircuit van Valencia. Het was nog even lastig om in het derde kwalificatiedeel te komen maar we staan er, gelukkig maar."

"Het is goed dat wij de extra tienden hebben gevonden om door te dringen. We staan nu in een redelijke positie om weer eens wat punten te scoren. Het is goed voor Renault om te zien dat Alonso en ik er weer eens staan. Dat is bemoedigend voor Renault, voor iedereen hier bij Red Bull Racing en onze fabriek in Engeland", aldus Webber die hoopt weer punten toe te voegen aan zijn totaal van achttien punten waarmee hij op de gedeelde achtste plaats staat met Alonso.

Overigens starten de Ferrari-aangedreven bolides op de plaatsen twee en vier. Plaatsen negen en tien zijn weggelegd voor Bourdais en Vettel, waarmee de Renault-motor in ieder geval het tweede Ferrari-aangedreven team voorblijft.
