Chandhok ziet testrol bij Force India niet zitten

Karun Chandhok zal niet ingaan op een eventuele testaanbieding van het team van Force India. Vijah Mallya, de baas van die renstal, zei in België dat Chandhok klaar is voor de rol van testrijder, maar op zijn minst tot 2010 moet wachten op een racestoeltje. Maar de Indiase coureur is helemaal niet happig op een testzitje bij het team van zijn landgenoot.

Chandhok legde tegenover Press Trust uit waarom: Als ik de kans krijg om bij Force India te racen, dan zou dat geweldig zijn. Maar de testregels van tegenwoordig betekenen dat je als testcoureur slechts vijf, zes dagen rijdt in een jaar. De rest van de tijd kijk je naar hoe anderen rondjes afwerken. Het is leuk om te horen dat Vijah mij bij zijn team wil betrekken, maar voor mijn carrière moet ik verstandige keuzes maken.

Een testrol bij een topteam zou Chandhok daarentegen niet weigeren. Ik zou het geweldig vinden om te testen voor een topteam en ik ben ook al in gesprek met enkele teams die hoger staan dan Force India.
