VT3: Glock snelste tijdens verregende sessie

Timo Glock heeft de snelste tijd weten te zetten tijdens de derde vrije training voor de Grand Prix van Italië. De Duitser zette deze tijd in zijn Toyota vroeg in de sessie neer, toen het nat was, maar de regen minimaal was. Na tien minuten begon het flink te regenen, zoals gisteren tijdens de eerste vrije training, en wist niemand meer zijn eerder gezette tijd te verbeteren. Vettel en Rosberg eindigde respectievelijk als tweede en derde.

Toen de sessie begon was het al nat op het circuit van Monza in Italië. Rubens Barrichello was de eerste coureur die een tijd liet zetten met een 1:40.484. Dat was meteen een ijkpunt voor alle andere coureurs die het steeds harder zagen regenen. Glock volgde daarop met een tijd die, zo bleek later, tot het einde bleef staan als snelste tijd van de ochtend.

Er werd op Monza zeer weinig ronden gereden, alleen de Duitsers Glock, Rosberg, Heidfeld en Sutil tezamen met de Brit Button reden op het circuit meer dan 10 ronden in de natte omstandigheden. Toen de sessie nog slechts een half uur te gaan had, hadden veel coureurs nog niet één ronde gereden. Waaronder beide McLaren-coureurs en Bourdais. Raikkonen had toen inmiddels een tijd neergezet die bijna vijftien seconden langzamer was dan de snelste tijd van Glock.

Met slechts tien minuten te gaan betrad Hamilton de doorweekte baan. Hij was liefst vijftien seconden langzamer dan de snelste tijd van Glock. De coureurs besloten daarna niet veel ronden meer te rijden. Het resulteerde in een opvallende eindrangschikking in de derde vrije training, waar veel coureurs van topteams in de onderste regionen verkeerden.

Vanmiddag tijdens de kwalificatie zijn de voorspellingen dat er regen gaat vallen, in welke hoeveelheid en hoedanigheid zal tussen 14.00 en 15.00 uur duidelijk worden, dan wordt de officiële kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van Italië verreden.

  heb de training gevolgt via een andere site toen kimi lewis en heikki de baan opkwamen was het minder goed te doen dan daarvoor
