Superleague Formula: Buurman maakt Nederlands feest compleet

Na de overwinning van Robert Doornbos in de eerste race heeft Yelmer Buurman namens PSV Eindhoven het Nederlandse feestje compleet gemaakt. De Nederlander heeft de tweede race van de Superleague Formula op de Nurburgring op zijn naam geschreven.

De beslissing valt drie ronden voor het eind als leider Toccacelo tempo verliest en Buurman er voorbij kan. Craig Dolby komt voor Anderlecht als tweede aan de finish en dat is een opmerkelijke prestatie gezien zijn start vanaf de laatste rij. Hij is daarmee de coureur die de meeste punten meeneemt vanaf het Duitse circuit.

Robert Doornbos zegevierde in de eerste race en moet daardoor vanaf de laatste startplaats starten. De Rotterdammer rijdt degelijke race en pakt opnieuw punten met de zesde plek.

Het kampioenschap wordt nu geleid door Davide Rigon, de winnaar van de allereerste race, met 151 punten. Door de overwinning van Buurman springt PSV naar de tweede plek op 24 punten achterstand. De volgende race wordt op 4 en 5 oktober verreden in het Belgische Zolder.
