Opnieuw miljoenenverlies voor Williams

Het team van Williams heeft voor het tweede jaar op rij een miljoenenverlies genoteerd. In 2007 boekte de Engelse renstal een verlies van ongeveer 25 miljoen euro. Een jaar eerder kwam het verlies zelfs op ongeveer 32 miljoen euro uit. En dat terwijl Williams in 2005 nog een winst van bijna veertig miljoen euro realiseerde.

Het miljoenenverlies wordt vergezeld van een rapport van de directie, waarin staat: Het besluit om de verliezen te verhogen in een poging om weer succesvol te worden op de baan worden ondersteund door een sterk businessplan voor de toekomst. Het voortbestaan van Williams, op dit moment het enige team zonder de steun van een grote autofabrikant of een miljardair, is vooralsnog niet in gevaar.
