Nog geen Honda-test voor Danica Patrick

Voorlopig zal Danica Patrick, de eerste vrouw die ooit een IndyCar Series-wedstrijd won, geen test aangeboden krijgen door het team van Honda. Eerder waren er berichten over een testsessie die aan het einde van het seizoen plaats zou moeten vinden. Patrick erkende ooit bijzonder graag de oversteek naar Europa te willen maken en leek daarbij steun te krijgen van Honda.

Hondas Formule 1-baas Nick Fry zegt dat Patrick nog steeds erg welkom is bij het team. Als Danica een keer in onze RA108 wil rijden, dan staan we daar zeker voor open. Maar tot op heden is er door beide partijen nog geen officieel verzoek gedaan.

Eerder deed Honda-coureur Jenson Button in het lifestyle-magazine FHM enkele stevige uitspraken over de racende Amerikaanse. Een meisje met grote borsten kan nooit prettig in zon auto plaatsnemen. Bovendien kunnen de monteurs zich dan niet goed concentreren. Kun je je voorstellen hoe het is om haar gordels aan te sjorren? Met zulke mensen wil ik liever niet samenwerken.
