Webber rekent op veel uitvallers in eerste races 2009

Red Bull Racing-coureur Mark Webber houdt er sterk rekening mee dat de autos aan het begin van volgend seizoen totaal niet betrouwbaar zullen zijn. Met de ingrijpende regelwijzigingen, herintrede van slicks en introductie van KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) zijn er voldoende variabelen die voor genoeg vraagtekens zorgen.

In de Australische krant The Age deelt Webber mede: Ik denk dat de autos voor volgend jaar in de eerste races onbetrouwbaar aan de start zullen verschijnen. We hebben nog wel een lange winterperiode voor de boeg, maar de wagens hebben zoveel werk nodig vanwege alle nieuwigheden voor 2009. De afgelopen vier, vijf jaar was de situatie vrij stabiel, voor volgend jaar is echter voor een totaal andere aanpak gekozen en dat is een uitdaging voor de teams. Het is totaal onduidelijk welke renstal daar het beste mee omgaat.
