Canadese Grand Prix geschrapt wegens contractuele problemen

Een probleem in het contract van de Grand Prix van Canada heeft voor het schrappen van die race van de kalender voor 2009 gezorgd. Dat heeft Bernie Ecclestone laten weten aan Canadese media. Dieper wilde de commerciële baas van de Formule 1 niet ingaan op de redenen. Wel uitte hij de wens om de Formule 1 terug te laten keren in Noord-Amerika, al voegde hij daaraan toe dat voor Canada volgend seizoen in elk geval geen Grand Prix heeft.
