Coulthard crasht door ophangingsprobleem

Volgens David Coulthard is contact tussen Sebastian Bourdais, Nelson Piquet jr en hemzelf er mede de oorzaak van dat de Schot in de bandenstapels belandde tijdens de eerste ronde van de Japanse Grand Prix. De 37-jarige Schot, die over twee wedstrijden stopt met Formule 1, crasht in de tweede bocht de bandenstapel in door een ophangingsprobleem.

Coulthard: "Bij het remmen voor bocht 1 dook ik aan de binnenkant van Bourdais, maar hij kwam weer terug naar de apex. Voor ons reed Piquet jr, die een beetje vroeg remde. Bij het uitaccelereren van bocht 2 gedroeg de auto zich ineens heel raar en crashte ik in de bandenstapel. Ik denk dat de auto schade heeft opgelopen door contact met een andere coureur en niet door een lekke band."

Red Bull Racing staat nog ene heftige klus te wachten. De RB4 van Coulthard raakte zwaar beschadigt en de Schot denkt een nieuw chassis nodig te hebben voor de Chinese Grand Prix, die voor aankomend weekeinde op het programma staat.
