Marc Gene vindt verbieden bijtanken geen goed idee

Marc Gene is geen voorstander van het idee om het tanken tijdens pitstops te verbieden. In Sjanghai bespraken de teams dat als mogelijke maatregel om de racestrategieën minder ingewikkeld en de sport veiliger te maken.

Gene in de Spaanse krant Sport: Ik denk dat bijtanken tijdens pitstops juiste extra spanning toevoegt. Het is goed voor de show en zorgt voor verschillende tactieken. Volgens sommige mensen is het voordeel van een verbod op tanken dat coureurs dan meer inhaalpogingen op de baan zullen wagen, omdat het via pitstraat niet meer mogelijk is om iemand voorbij te gaan.
