Heikki Kovalainen gaat voor de winst op Interlagos

De beste manier om McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton bij te staan in zijn jacht op de wereldtitel is door de Grand Prix van Brazilië zelf te winnen. Dat zegt zijn teamgenoot Heikki Kovalainen. Want als de Fin zegeviert op Interlagos, dan kan Felipe Massa maximaal acht punten scoren en de Ferrari-coureur staat er zeven achter op Hamilton.

Kovalainen gaat dus voor de winst in de laatste race van het seizoen. Met de huidige stand liggen de zaken nogal moeilijk, begint de Fin. Duidelijk is dat ik het team en Lewis wil helpen aan het kampioenschap, maar de makkelijkste methode om dat te doen is zelf aan kop te rijden. Het team weet dat ik mij schik in mijn rol, maar we gaan ook nog voor de constructeurtitel. We staan dan wel elf punten achter op Ferrari, maar in Brazilië zijn nog achttien punten te behalen. Het doel voor het weekend op Interlagos is om beide kampioenschappen in de wacht te slepen.
