Lewis Hamilton: "Dit wordt geen alles-of-niets-wedstrijd"

McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton heeft nog maar eens herhaald dat hij komend weekend het zekere voor het onzekere zal nemen. De Engelsman staat niet bepaald bekend om zijn behoudende rijstijl, maar hij heeft in Brazilië genoeg aan een vijfde plaats voor de titel en dus moet het hoofd het voor deze keer winnen van het hart.

Hamilton: Laat ik duidelijk zijn: we komen hier gewoon om te zegevieren. We hoeven alleen niet te winnen en de druk ligt niet op onze schouders. We komen hier met een sterke auto en de hoop dat we mee kunnen doen voor de overwinning. We gaan proberen het hoogst haalbare te bereiken. Wij zijn hier niet om een lage klassering te behalen, maar ik weet wel dat het geen alles-of-niets-wedstrijd wordt.

De McLaren-coureur gelooft ook niet dat concurrent Felipe Massa hem uit de race zal tikken om zelf kampioen te worden. Elke coureur hier is een groot sportman en wij zijn allemaal competitief. Ik moet maar vertrouwen op de goede bedoelingen van iedereen en hoop dat we een eerlijk gevecht zullen uitvechten.
