Hamilton mag enkele McLaren-trofeeën zelf houden

Kersverse wereldkampioen Lewis Hamilton is dit weekend aanwezig bij het Stars and Cars-evenement van Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart. Daar meldde hij dat hij met zijn team een afspraak heeft gemaakt over de trofeeën die hij dit seizoen heeft behaald. Normaal bewaart het team van McLaren alle prijzen op haar thuisbasis.

Normaal gesproken houdt het team alle bekers die we winnen en dat kan ik respecteren, zegt Hamilton. Maar ik heb met Ron (Dennis) een deal gemaakt dat ik een paar van de bekers van de afgelopen twee seizoenen in mijn eigen prijzenkast mag zetten. Dat zijn de de trofeeën voor mijn eerste podiumfinish, mijn eerste overwinning, mijn eerste zege in Monaco en mijn eerste wereldtitel. Dat zijn bekers die belangrijk zijn voor mij.
