Bruno Senna: "Racestoeltje Honda is ideaal voor mij"

Bruno Senna mag volgende week bij de test in Barcelona proberen om een racecontract bij Honda te verdienen. De Braziliaan is kandidaat om Rubens Barrichello te vervangen bij de Japanse renstal en is van plan om deze mogelijkheid met beide handen aan te grijpen.

Senna zegt tegenover Autosport: Er is met Jenson Button volgende week een ervaren coureur bij en ik kan veel van hem leren. Daarnaast kan ik veel opsteken van teambaas Ross Brawn en engineer Jock Clear.

Er zitten voldoende capabele mensen bij het team en als ik de kans krijg om me voor 2009 aan te sluiten bij Honda, weet ik zeker dat ze me allemaal zullen helpen om mezelf te ontwikkelen. Dit is de perfecte kans voor mij om in de Formule 1 te komen.

Senna is niet bang om in een slechte auto terecht te komen. Ross heeft al vroeg de aandacht naar volgend jaar verlegd en het team heeft dit seizoen voornamelijk aan de auto voor 2009 gewerkt. Ik weet zeker dat Honda volgend jaar op het niveau van BMW Sauber zit en mee kan doen om zeges en podiumplekken. En met een beetje geluk maak ik daar deel van uit.
