Loeb onder de indruk van vermogen Formule 1-auto

Aan het einde van de eerste wintertest was Sebastien Loeb misschien wel de verrassing van de dag. De Fransman, wereldkampioen in het WK Rally, eindigde zijn eerste test voor het team van Red Bull Racing als achtste. Al eerder had hij in een Renault een eenvoudige testsessie achter de rug, maar deze Red Bull-test was veel serieuzer. Loeb zelf was vooral onder de indruk van de kracht van de Renault-motor. Ik denk niet dat ik in een auto met zoveel pks het bos in wil, grapte de Fransman.

Moe maar voldaan stapte Loeb uit. Dit is fysiek veel meer veeleisend dan mijn rallyauto. Aan het einde van de dag kreeg ik pas echt het goede gevoel in de auto en kon ik steeds beter in mijn ritme komen. Het gevoel door de bochten heen en de grip van de auto, dat is erg indrukwekkend. Het was een geweldige ervaring en ik heb het uitstekend naar mijn zin gehad.

Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner erkent tegenover F1Today.nl behoorlijk onder de indruk te zijn van de prestaties van de Fransman. Hij heeft het uitstekend gedaan. Zomaar vanuit een rallywagen overschakelen naar de Formule 1, dat doe je zeker niet snel. Maar hij heeft 82 ronden lang erg goed gepresteerd en eindigde slechts 1,5 seconden achter de snelste man. Hij heeft echt laten zien dat hij wat in huis heeft, aldus Horner.

Ik wil hem wel zien in de f1 want de rally heeft hij niks meer te bewijzen. de man staat op eenzame hoogte in wcr
