Jenson Button voelt zich lekkerder op slicks

Jenson Button heeft enorm genoten van zijn eerste kennismaking met de nieuwste generatie Formule 1-autos. Op het circuit van Barcelona testte de Honda-coureur met slicks en een aan de regels voor 2009 aangepaste RA108. Volgens de Engelsman zijn de bolides waar volgend jaar mee geracet gaat worden veel leuker om te besturen dan zijn voorgangers.

Button: Het was heel leuk om eindelijk weer eens in een auto te rijden waar ik van kon genieten. De flink verminderde downforce en de slicks passen veel beter bij mijn rijstijl dan gegroefde banden. Ik heb me in Barcelona kostelijk vermaakt en we hebben veel informatie vergaard die nuttig kan zijn bij de ontwikkeling van de nieuwe auto.

Na enkele magere jaren heeft Button al zijn hoop op 2009 gericht. Het begin is in elk geval al positief en ik verheug me op volgend seizoen. Ik moet het team nu blijven pushen zodat we volgend jaar inderdaad die verbeteringen te zien krijgen die we willen zien.
