Mallya wil binnen vijf jaar Indiase coureur bij Force India

Force India-eigenaar Vijah Mallya heeft nog altijd de bedoeling om in de nabije toekomst een Indiase coureur in te zetten voor zijn team. Dat moet binnen een periode van vijf jaar gebeuren. Oud Formule 1-coureur Narain Karthikeyan en GP2-rijder Karun Chandhok leken de belangrijkste gegadigden, maar krijgen vooralsnog geen hulp van hun landgenoot.

Mallya speurt nog naar dat Indiase talent met een gouden toekomst in de koningsklasse van de autosport in zich. Op CNN zegt de Force India-eigenaar: Ik heb me met Force India vastgelegd op het identificeren en voorbereiden van een Indiase coureur op de Formule 1, via nationale en internationale kartkampioenschappen en de GP2. Ik hoop dit te kunnen bewerkstelligen binnen een periode van vijf jaar.
