Webber: "Ik ben ruim op tijd fit voor eerste race 2009"

Red Bull Racing-coureur Mark Webber maakt zich geen zorgen over zijn voorbereiding op het volgende seizoen. De Australiër is momenteel uitgeschakeld door een beenbreuk, maar hij verwacht ruim op tijd voor de eerste race van 2009, de Grand Prix van Australië, weer fit te zijn. Hij denkt zelfs nog de laatste wintertests mee te kunnen maken.

Ik ben ruim op tijd voor de race in Albert Park terug in de auto en dan is het weer business as usual, begint Webber in de Herald Sun. Ik zou slechts twee dagen testen volgende maand en daarna zouden Sebastian Vettel en ik door de pauze in het wintertestprogramma niet in actie komen tot 10 februari. En mijn gebroken been weerhoudt me niet van het bezoeken van de Red Bull Racing-fabriek om de ontwikkelingen aan de nieuwe auto te volgen. Qua fitness zal ik ook in orde zijn, er zijn nog 83 dagen tot de eerste test van 2009.

Het was een normale breuk, dus ik verwacht geen terugval of complicaties. Ik hoef verder niet geopereerd te worden. Zodra Red Bull Racing alle informatie heeft gaan we samen bepalen wat het beste revalidatieprogramma voor mij zal zijn.
