Honda heeft fitness hoog in het vaandel

Honda heeft op de fabriek in Brackley een nieuwe fitnessruimte geopend. De Japanse renstal moedigt al haar werknemers aan om in goede conditie te blijven. Honda-fitnesstrainer Rachel Swift: Als onze mensen zich fit en gezond voelen geeft dat niet alleen een beter gevoel, het zorgt ook voor meer concentratie, betere productiviteit en minder afwezigheid door ziekte.

Bovendien zijn de werkomstandigheden zwaar en daar moeten de teamleden zich tegen wapenen. Nogmaals Swift: Racen en testen zijn fysiek gezien veeleisend, vooral voor de pitcrew die met zwaar materiaal moet werken. De werkdagen zijn lang en de omstandigheden kunnen heet en vochtig zijn. Hoe fitter iedereen dan is, des te efficiënter zullen ze dan kunnen werken. Iedereen ondergaat regelmatig fitnesstests en we hebben ook voor alle leden van ons team een speciaal programma zodat iedereen zich sterker kan voelen in zijn rol binnen Honda.
