Hamilton: "Ik kan met de enorme media-aandacht omgaan"

Sinds zijn eerste wereldtitel staat McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton nog meer in de spotlights dan daarvoor. De Engelsman gaat echter nuchter om met de toenemende media-aandacht. Hij heeft in de afgelopen twee jaar geleerd met de pers om te gaan.

Hamilton in de Woking News & Mail: De media-aandacht hoort bij dit werk en was een van de grootste veranderingen aan mijn leven toen ik van de GP2 in de Formule 1 belandde. Maar ik hou wel van praten met de pers en ik weet dat de ze belangrijk zijn voor het succes van de Formule 1.

Het komt zelden voor dat ik de kranten lees of televisie kijkt, dus ik weet ook vaak niet wat er over me geschreven wordt of wat ze op de televisie over me zeggen. Dat is volgens mij de ideale manier om met al die aandacht om te gaan en dat gaat me goed af.
