Hamilton: "Kampioenschap van volgend jaar ligt wijd open"

Voor wereldkampioen Lewis Hamilton begint deze week de voorbereiding op het nieuwe seizoen. De McLaren-coureur laste na de zinderende titelontknoping in Brazilië een rustperiode in, maar nu wordt het weer tijd om de draad op te pakken. Te beginnen bij een vijfdaags trainingskamp van McLaren in het westen van Finland.

Hamilton: Dit is een van de beste weken van het jaar voor mij. Voor even helemaal weg van de bewoonde wereld, waardoor ik me volledig op mijn training kan focussen. Het wordt zeker geen makkelijk weekje, het is heel koud in Finland in de winter en we worden elke dag afgebeuld. Maar het helpt ons wel wanneer we weer in de auto zitten.

Over volgend seizoen zegt de Engelsman: Ik heb met veel belangstelling naar de eerste op 2009 gebaseerde autos gekeken. Het kampioenschap van volgend jaar ligt wijd open. Ik kijk er echt naar uit om met de nieuwe reglementen aan de slag te gaan.
