Bulgarije wil met nieuw circuit Formule 1-race binnenhalen

Bulgarije heeft zich gevoegd bij de lange lijst landen die graag een Grand Prix willen organiseren. Het land laat een nieuw circuit in het noorden van het land bouwen in de hoop op een Formule 1-race in de toekomst. Dat verklapte Bogdan Nikolov, hoofd van de Bulgaarse autosportbond, in 24 Chasa.

Daarin zegt hij: Het zal moeilijk worden, maar ik denk dat het ons gaat lukken. Op 15 december wil Nikolov een plan voorleggen aan de internationale autosportbond FIA, een dag later wordt commerciële baas Bernie Ecclestone op de hoogte gebracht. De nieuwe baan moet in de buurt van het stadje Pleven komen en ook MotoGP-races kunnen huisvesten.
