Franse investeringsgroep vreest voor voortbestaan Grand Prix

In 2009 is er geen Grand Prix van Frankrijk, in 2010 mogelijk ook niet en de toekomst van de race staat op het spel. Dat meldt de Lagardere Group, de geplande investeerder voor het inmiddels gesneuvelde plan voor Formule 1 in Disneyland Parijs. De investeringsgroep roept de premier op tot ingrijpen om de Grand Prix te redden.

Daar bestaan met Flins-sur-Seine en Sarcelles nog twee mogelijke locaties voor, maar haast is geboden. De Lagardere Group verklaart in La Presse: Er is zeker geen Grand Prix in 2009 en mogelijk ook niet in 2010. Als we in 2011 niet terug op de kalender staan, dan kan Frankrijk de race voorgoed kwijtraken. Dit is een kwestie van banen voor Franse mensen en het imago van het land. Het is nog niet te laat, maar de tijd tikt wel weg.
