Trulli: "2009 biedt Toyota goede kans om gat te dichten"

Jarno Trulli is ervan doordrongen dat de ingrijpende regelwijzigingen voor volgend seizoen hem en zijn werkgever Toyota een unieke kans bieden om de stap naar de top te maken. De Japanse renstal verbeterde zich dit jaar al flink ten opzichte van 2007, maar sinds de entree in 2002 heeft het team nog geen race gewonnen.

Misschien in 2009. Trulli: De nieuwe regels geven Toyota wellicht de kans om het gat naar de topteams te dichten. De TF108 was al een grote stap voorwaarts en stelde Timo Glock en mij in staat om podiumplekken en veel punten te scoren. Ik ben tevreden over onze progressie en nu moeten we deze lijn doortrekken om volgend jaar vaker de strijd aan te kunnen gaan met de grote jongens. Met onze ervaring ga ik ervan uit dat we gebruik maken van de opening die de nieuwe reglementen ons bieden. Ons doel is om elk evenement in de top mee te doen en 2009 is daarvoor de ideale mogelijkheid.
