Mosley: "FIA zal medaillesysteem waarschijnlijk verwerpen"

De World Motor Sport Council gaat het idee voor een medaillesysteem in plaats van het huidige puntensysteem waarschijnlijk niet goedkeuren. Het plan van Bernie Ecclestone kan niet op de benodigde unanieme steun rekenen.

Dat vertelde Max Mosley, voorzitter van de internationale autosportbond FIA, in de Britse krant Daily Mail. Medailles zijn onmogelijk voor 2009 zonder unanieme instemming en die komt er wellicht niet. De nieuwe regels betreffende motoren, testen en ontwikkeling die Mosley gisteren met teamverbond FOTA overeen kwam, worden waarschijnlijk wel opgenomen in de reglementen.
