Algarve dag 2: De la Rosa is Ferrari-testrijders te snel af

McLaren-testcoureur Pedro de la Rosa heeft op de tweede testdag op het nieuwe Lagarve Motor Park de beste tijd genoteerd. De Spanjaard nam het op tegen twee Ferrari-testrijders, maar Marc Gene en Luca Badoer kwamen niet aan zijn 1:30.080.

De la Rosa testte de hele dag met KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) voor McLaren. Later op de dag ging hij zich ook bezig houden met het uitproberen van de beweegbare voorvleugel. Bij Ferrari werkte men vooral aan de afstelling en aan de banden. Daarnaast werden de motoren aan een uithoudingstest onderworpen, om ze voor te bereiden op de vereiste langere levensduur in 2009.
