Richards: "Nieuwe regels maken Formule 1 aantrekkelijker"

David Richards zou eigenlijk dit jaar met een eigen team op de grid staan, maar zag daar om geruzie over klantenchassis van af. De kans is echter aanwezig dat de Engelsman volgend jaar alsnog terugkeert in de Formule 1. De naam van Richards wordt in verband gebracht met een overname van het Formule 1-team van Honda.

In de Britse krant The Sun geeft Richards aan dat hij door de kostenbesparende maatregelen een rentree in de koningsklasse van de autosport wel overweegt. Ik heb nog even bedenktijd. Maar de nieuwe structuur van de Formule 1 vanaf 2010, met nieuwe regels en significante kostenreducties, maakt het voor een bedrijf als het onze wel meer aantrekkelijk en geschikt om deel te nemen. Met wat er nu op tafel ligt, is het te doen.
