Ferrari houdt deur voor komst Alonso op een kier

De wens van Fernando Alonso om ooit voor Ferrari uit te komen behoort in ieder geval de komende twee jaar niet tot de mogelijkheden. De Italiaanse renstal heeft met Kimi Raikkonen en Felipe Massa twee rijders tot eind 2010 onder contract en zelf tekende de Spanjaard vorige maand een verbintenis voor dezelfde lengte bij Renault.

Bovendien is Ferrari zeer tevreden over het huidige duo. Voorzitter Luca di Montezemolo slaat de deur voor Alonso echter niet dicht. Ik beschouw Alonso als een geweldige coureur, een echte leider en een aardige gozer. Ik had hem kunnen aantrekken toen hij nog voor Minardi reed, maar het leven is nog lang.

Natuurlijk zou ik graag met coureurs als Alonso en Lewis Hamilton aan de slag gaan. Maar dat is in een ander leven. Nu beschik ik met Kimi Raikkonen, Felipe Massa en in recent verleden Michael Schumacher over minstens evenveel talent. Misschien zeg ik over twee jaar iets anders, maar op dit moment ben ik enorm tevreden over de coureurs.
