Ferrari: "We hebben nu de echte Kimi Raikkonen terug"

Voor Ferrari-coureur Kimi Raikkonen verliep het seizoen waarin hij zijn wereldtitel verdedigde teleurstellend. In de eerste seizoenshelft leek er niets aan de hand, in de tweede helft liet de Fin veel steken vallen. Maar in 2009 gaan we de echte Raikkonen weer zien.

Dat vertelde Ferrari-president Luca di Montezemolo aan autosport.com. Ik grap regelmatig dat we Kimi hadden tot en met de race op Magny-Cours. Daarna had hij het druk en vroeg hij een vriend om voor hem in te vallen. Die vriend was ook een hele goede coureur. Hij deed de helm van Kimi op, maar nu hebben we de echte Kimi weer terug.

De vergelijking gaat op met een spits die geen doelpunten maakt, maar waarvan je weet dat als die eerste eenmaal valt, dat het dan weer gaat lopen. We hebben recentelijk gesproken en Kimi is zeer vastberaden en in een goede vorm. Laten we niet vergeten dat hij in zijn eerste jaar voor Ferrari meteen de wereldtitel pakte. Hij komt zeker terug.
