Fisichella: "We wisten dat 2008 een zwaar jaar zou worden"

Voor het eerst sinds zijn debuutseizoen 1996 scoorde Force India-coureur Giancarlo Fisichella dit jaar geen punten. De ervaren Italiaan had wel verwacht dat het een moeilijk jaar zou worden, maar het viel al met al toch niet mee.

Fisichella: Het was een moeizaam seizoen en we wisten dat al voor de eerste Grand Prix. In de eerste races ging het nog redelijk. We zaten vrij dicht bij de top zestien, bij de punten en bij autofabrikanten als Honda. Maar uiteindelijk werd het toch een zwaar jaar.

Soms leek het wel alsof we de juiste richting te pakken hadden, maar daarna raakten we al snel de weg weer kwijt en in de laatste races zijn we maar helemaal gestopt met de ontwikkeling van de 2008-auto. Dat maakte het ook niet makkelijker.
