Racelegende Stirling Moss heeft zijn naam verbonden aan het nieuwe vlaggeschip van Mercedes-Benz: de SLR Stirling Moss. De nieuwe sportwagen wordt ergens halverwege volgend jaar gelanceerd.

Het design van de auto is geinspireerd op de 300 SLR waarmee Moss zo succesvol was in de jaren vijftig. Het motorblok perst er 650 pk uit en is daarmee goed voor een topsnelheid van ver over de 300 km/h. Er zullen slechts 75 exemplaren gebouwd worden en de prijs zal ongeveer 750.000 euro bedragen.

De auto zal niet te koop zijn voor het grote publiek. De 75 exemplaren worden uitsluitend verkocht aan trouwe SLR-klanten.
