Robert Kubica zet eigen kartteam op

BMW Sauber-rijder Robert Kubica gaat een actieve rol spelen bij de management van een nieuw kartteam. Dat zei de Pool op de website van zijn werkgever. Eerder maakte hij al bekend samen met fabrikant Birel een eigen kart te ontwikkelen, maar destijds was nog geen sprake van een eigen renstal.

Nu gaat Kubica toch samen met Birel aan een eigen team beginnen. Ik heb altijd genoten van het rijden in karts. Deelnemen aan de kartcompetities was geweldig, hevige competitie in combinatie met weinig politiek. De wens om iets in de kartwereld te beginnen leefde al langer bij mij en gaat nu in vervulling, ik hou nog steeds veel van karting.
