Hamilton: "Ik wil wereldkampioen worden"

Zijn eerste wereldtitel smaakt voor McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton naar meer. De Engelsman heeft zijn batterijen na de zinderende seizoensfinale weer opgeladen en is zeer gemotiveerd om opnieuw de titel voor zich op te eisen. Hamilton: Ik zit hier niet met het gevoel dat ik wereldkampioen ben, ik zit hier met het gevoel dat ik wereldkampioen wil worden.

Hij vervolgt: Ik voel me meer ontspannen voor dit seizoen, omdat ik net een geweldig jaar achter de rug heb. Het is hetzelfde als je het van race tot race bekijkt, dan krijg je ook meer vertrouwen voor de volgende Grand Prix als je een race wint. Ik heb mijn doelen opnieuw geformuleerd en mijn doelstelling is hetzelfde als toen ik debuteerde in de Formule 1: ik wil wereldkampioen worden.

De auto oogt weer net zo elegant als altijd. Het is even wennen met die smalle achtervleugel, maar het ziet er mooi uit, zeker met de slicks. De side-pods zijn flink veranderd, maar het uitzicht vanuit de cockpit is min of meer hetzelfde. Al is het stuur wel uitgerust met meer knoppen waarmee ik kan spelen. Het wordt zonder twijfel een interessant jaar.
