Nelson Piquet heeft inmiddels zijn eerste ronde met de nieuwe auto van Renault, de R29, achter de rug. De Braziliaan ging even na half elf de baan op voor een installatieronde met de eerder vanochtend gepresenteerde wagen. Hij bracht de R29 zonder problemen terug bij de pitbox van Renault. Het weer in Portugal is nog niet best en vooralsnog wachten de meeste teams totdat het circuit is opgedroogd.
