BMW Sauber-duo verwacht niet meer inhaalacties

De nieuwe aerodynamicaregels zullen niet het gewenste effect van meer inhaalacties teweeg brengen. Dat zeggen de twee racecoureurs van BMW Sauber, Robert Kubica en Nick Heidfeld. Het duo is er niet van overtuigd dat de nieuwe regels voor meer actie op de baan gaan zorgen.

Kubica: Ik hoop dat ik het mis heb, maar ik denk niet dat het veel zal uitmaken. Ik verwacht niet dat de Formule 1 de kant van karting of toeringwagens opgaat. Misschien dat zich iets meer mogelijkheden voordoen, maar dan nog is het uitermate moeilijk. De remzones zijn zo kort en de autos voelen ongeveer hetzelfde, met name bij het aanremmen. Inhalen blijft extreem lastig.

Teamgenoot Heidfeld voegt toe: Ik hoop dat we meer inhaalacties te zien krijgen. Ik denk het wel, maar niet veel meer. Het zal nooit zo worden als bijvoorbeeld de motorsport, vanwege de redenen die Robert net noemt. Maar we hebben nog niet veel gereden en nog geen races verreden, dus we weten het niet. Hopelijk neemt het aantal gevechten toe.
