Bourdais bijna verzekerd van tweede Toro Rosso-stoeltje

Zwitserse en Franse media melden dat Scuderia Toro Rosso besloten heeft om Sebastien Bourdais als tweede coureur aan te stellen. De Fransman was in 2008 ook actief voor de Italiaanse renstal. Sebastien Buemi is al zeker van een stoeltje bij Scuderia Toro Rosso.

Volgens het Zwitserse Speedweek, dat goede connecties met Red Bull heeft, krijgt Bourdais de voorkeur boven Takuma Sato. De Franse site sport24.com bericht dat het sponsorgeld dat Sato mee zou nemen, is afgenomen door de economische crisis.

Nicolas Todt, manager van Bourdais, wilde het nieuws nog niet bevestigen, maar benadrukt dat de onderhandelingen nog altijd gaande zijn. Opvallend genoeg toont Toro Rosso op de eigen website onder het kopje 'Team' Bourdais en Buemi als coureurs.
